The people behind the work
Lindsay Garner Hostetler is the Director of Operations & Visitor Experience of the Cashiers Historical Society.
Before joining the Cashiers Historical Society team in 2024, Lindsay spent over 15 years serving non-profit organizations in WNC including Mountain Theatre Company in Highlands, NC and Camp Merrie-Woode in Sapphire, NC. While there, she established an archive to organize, store, and share historical collections significant to the camp's history.
She was also instrumental in the publication of a book to document the historical significance of the organization. It was during her time on this project when she first became passionate about preserving the history of the Cashiers area. In addition to history, Lindsay enjoys theatre. She is on the producing team of Fresh Air, a new musical set in southern Appalachia. She is excited to be a part of the team at CHS and is proud to help preserve and share the rich story and culture of this remarkable place.
