The Impact of Your Gift
For nearly three decades, the Cashiers Designer Showhouse has become a beloved tradition that brings thousands of people to Cashiers during the last week of August. Funds raised support the Cashiers Historical Society’s mission to preserve the history and culture of the Cashiers Valley through education, stewardship, and advocacy.
Our sponsors help make our mission possible by allowing us to continue documenting and sharing the stories and traditions that make this community special. In 2025, we welcomed thousands of visitors to our campus, home to some of the oldest structures in Jackson County, North Carolina. Our educational programs reached thousands more, including every third through sixth grader in our local schools. Cashiers Historical Society programs are designed to strengthen our community by reminding people that we’re united in our shared history of Cashiers.
Thanks to Benefactors, CHS:
- Created a digital exhibit, "Campfires & The Embers of Youth"
- Awarded a historic property the Village Heritage Award
- Partners with Junior Appalachian Musicians to host a day camp at CHS
- Brings every 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grader to CHS for fieldtrips
- Developed two award-winning exhibits
- Maintains and preserves the four historic properties on our campus
